In the Olympic spirit
Olympians shine the spotlight on Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign.
3 August 2012- Everyone’s eyes are on London right now – and some of the world’s top athletes are using this opportunity to let supporters know that we are “this close” to eradicating polio.
British divers, Tom Daley and Tonia Couch, Spanish basketball star Pau Gasol and Indian boxer Vijender Singh are just some of the Olympians appearing in special Olympic editions of Rotary International’s “this close” poster series.
Singh, a member of the boxing team who won a bronze medal in Beijing, appealed to parents to ensure their children are protected against polio: “Polio vaccine can save a child from polio paralysis. Let us ensure that children are not paralyzed by giving them the vital drops.”
