Polio this week in Burkina Faso
- No case of circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) was reported this week. There are two cases reported in 2021 so far. The number of 2020 cases remains at 65. The country is affected by different outbreaks, one linked to the Jigawa outbreak in Nigeria and one to the Savanes outbreak in Togo.

International Health Regulations
Burkina Faso is classified by the International Health Regulations (IHR) as a state infected with cVDPV2, with potential risk of international spread. It is therefore subject to Temporary Recommendations issued by the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee on Polio Eradication (issued as of August 2021).
